Kenneth Heck is the Chief Financial Officer of Heck Capital Advisors and founded the firm in 2007 with his father and brother.

Ken began his investment career in 1990, after graduating from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. In 1993, he started the firm's discretionary program, and in the late 90’s, developed the firm's asset allocation program for 401(k) plans.

As CFO of Heck Capital, Ken oversees the fiscal responsibilities of the firm. In addition to these duties, he provides investment advice and planning to high-net-worth clients. Ken is well suited to provide fiduciary advice, asset allocation, and investment selection to high-net-worth families and endowments/foundations.

In his leadership role at the firm, Ken oversees all discretionary investment strategies offered by Heck Capital and serves as Chairperson of Heck Capital’s Investment Committee. Ken's primary responsibility as chair of the Investment Committee is to maintain the integrity of all investment strategies offered by Heck Capital. Ken collaborates closely with portfolio managers, analysts, due-diligence officers, and industry experts.

A former collegiate swimmer, Ken is passionate about giving back to the Rhinelander community through his work with the Rhinelander Swim Club, of which he is currently President. Ken coordinates collaborative planning between the club, the Northwood YMCA and the Rhinelander School District for the betterment of the youth swim program with the elevation of swimmers up to the Hodag High School swim teams. Ken has previously served as the Finance Council Chair for Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church and on the Strategic Planning Committee for the Northwood YMCA.

Ken resides in Rhinelander, WI with his wife, Jenny, and their four children. He enjoys swimming, boating, and spending quality time with his family.

I enjoy being able to work with extremely talented and hardworking employees and having the ability to chart a path for the company that is in the best interest of the client.

What is the most rewarding part of your position?
Working with clients over many years and seeing their long term goals come to fruition is the most rewarding aspect of my work.

What do you hope to achieve for your clients?
I want to help clients achieve a genuine comfort and knowledge about their investments. The more informed and comfortable they are, the more they are able to enjoy life.

David M. Heck CIMA®, AIF®

David Heck

David Heck is the Chief Operating Officer of Heck Capital Advisors and founded the firm in 2007 along with his father and brother.

Dave graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Affairs with a concentration in Public Financial Management and began his investment career in 1992.

He earned the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA®) designation through the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business. This designation demonstrates a focus on institutional consulting for investments while assessing risk for high profile clients. Additionally, Dave earned his Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation, which demonstrates his focus on the Global Fiduciary Standard of Excellence. . Dave’s primary responsibilities include advising select high-net-worth relationships, including institutions, corporations, individuals, and families.

Dave is dedicated to serving the Rhinelander and Northwoods community, and has led many community initiatives, and served on multiple boards. He currently serves on the Aspirus, Inc. Board of Directors and is a member of their Finance and Audit Committee. Dave is the past President of the Hodag Schools Foundation, a role he held for 25 years. Dave’s work with the Hodag Schools Foundation brought the Rhinelander “Hodag Dome” to fruition. The Hodag Dome is the largest air-supported high school dome in the country and allows students and community members to participate in sports and community activities year-round. Dave was awarded the Jefferson Award for public service for North Central Wisconsin in 2020 for the accomplishments to help research, fund, and collaborate to bring in the permanent Dome complex to Rhinelander. He is a former founding member of Forward Rhinelander, a community advocacy and action group dedicated to working for the betterment of the city of Rhinelander and surrounding communities.

Dave resides in Rhinelander, WI with his wife, Gina, and their four children. He enjoys spending time with his family and serving his community.

What do you hope to achieve for your clients?
Research and analysis, client communication, and understanding objectives and risk all factor into a successful relationship. I hope to achieve proactive advice and service for all our clients to help them accomplish their investment goals. This is not an understatement – it is constant work ethic to help clients.

Derek Bartle

Derek Bartle

Derek Bartle is the Managing Director of Heck Capital.  Derek is responsible for firm-wide leadership and strategy at Heck Capital. He brings over 15 years of experience in wealth management, financial strategy, and senior leadership. Prior to joining Heck Capital, Derek served as market leader at U.S. Bank Wealth Management, leading the firm’s largest market, managing $6 billion in assets and 45 financial advisors.

Throughout his career, Derek has led enterprise-wide strategic initiatives focused on leveraging technology, improving client experience, and driving operational efficiency. He is passionate about building high-performing teams that put clients at the center of everything.

Derek earned his Bachelors of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. He passed numerous FINRA securities licenses including, Series 7, 24, 52, 53, 63 and 65.

In the community, Derek serves on the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association. Derek and his wife live in Delafield with their daughters. Derek and family enjoy time outdoors, embracing every season Wisconsin has to offer.
