John R. Moore CFA
Director
John Moore is the Director of Consulting. John began his investment career in 2005, and provides investment advice for institutional and corporate client relationships, as well as assists in the various Heck Capital Portfolio Management investment strategies. John graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering, with honors, and a minor in Economics. John earned his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a concentration in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Economics and Statistics. John earned his Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter in 2008. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter is a designation given to those who have completed the CFA® Program and completed acceptable work experience requirements. John also passed the Series 7, 63, 86, and 87 securities licenses.
Prior to joining Heck Capital, John started his career at Robert W. Baird as an Equity Research Analyst. He later played an integral role in the launch of a Chicago-based hedge fund before joining a New York-based investment firm as their lead analyst covering the industrial sector. Most recently, John was a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst at a Milwaukee-based investment firm, Skylands Capital, LLC, for nine years.
John’s primary responsibilities include working with Institutional and Consulting client relationships, providing investment advice, and Portfolio Management responsibilities for client relationships. John also serves as a member of Heck Capital’s Investment Committee, Investment Advisory/All-Advisor Committee, and is a member of our Research/Analytics team. John is well-suited to work with institutions, corporate, and non-profit clients as well as high net worth individuals and families.
John has served as a coach for recreational soccer and is active in serving his local public school community. John and his wife, Amy, are founders of the Mitchell J. Moore Foundation; a foundation established in honor of their late son. The Foundation provides assistance to families who have suffered the loss of a child.
John and Amy reside in Whitefish Bay, WI with their daughters Emmerson and Elin and son Carter. They love spending time with their family in the Northwoods and John participates in many outdoor activities, including: running, biking, swimming, skiing, golfing, tennis and boating.

What is the most rewarding part of your position?
Working with and spending time with people is without a doubt the most rewarding. I want clients to feel secure in their long-term financial strategy so they can focus on enjoying the more fulfilling aspects of their lives, and company’s goals.
What do you hope to achieve for your clients?
I hope to apply my experience in market research, individual company and stock analysis, and investment management to provide successful outcomes in all my client relationships. I aim to develop a thorough understanding of client objectives, whether they are companies, foundations, or individuals, to provide the highest investment return possible, while also balancing risk and volatility.
Connor J. Showalter CFA
Associate Director
Connor Showalter a Retirement and Institutional Advisor and an Associate Director at Heck Capital Advisors. He is based in Heck Capital’s Rhinelander office. Connor graduated from Marquette University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. While at Marquette University, Connor was accepted into the Applied Investment Management Program (AIM) where he received hands-on academic and financial analysis experience, including an opportunity to actively manage domestic and international equity and fixed-income portfolios.
Connor began his investing career in 2014 as an investment consultant in St. Louis working as a manager research intern. Since starting at Heck Capital in 2015, he has worked with client portfolios and managing Heck Capital's portfolios. Connor earned his Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter in 2019. A Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter is a designation given to those who have completed the CFA® Program and completed acceptable work experience requirements. Connor also passed his Series 65, Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination in 2016.
Connor’s primary responsibilities include serving on Heck Capital’s Investment Committee, managing Heck Capital’s portfolios, researching fund managers & equities, meeting with institutional and individual clients. Connor enjoys helping clients and providing advice on a wide range of market and economic topics.
Connor serves as the County Board Supervisor for District 1 of Oneida County. From 2018 to the end of 2022, Connor served as the Treasurer of the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce. He has also volunteered as a Coach for Rhinelander Little League and Hodag Soccer Club. He is also a member of the Rotary Club of Rhinelander and has served on the City of Rhinelander's Board of Review. Connor won the Top 10 Under 40 award from the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce for 2021.
Connor resides in Rhinelander, WI with his wife, two daughters, and dog Mocha. Connor enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and snowshoeing, and watching his favorite sports teams, the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals.

What do you enjoy most about the research process?
Heck Capital Advisors has a rigorous research process which promotes continuous improvement among team members. We conduct in depth research in many asset classes and investment vehicles including stocks, bonds, ETFs, and mutual funds. We have devised proprietary screening and scoring systems for many of our areas of research which are routinely updated and improved. Finally, I enjoy helping the client to find differentiated investments and the performance they seek to meet their goals.
Jack Wasserman
Associate
Jack Wasserman is a member of the Institutional Advisory Services team, serving as an Investment Analyst Associate, and is based in Heck Capital’s Rhinelander office. Jack graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration, majoring in Finance, Investment, and Banking. Jack has passed the Level II Chartered Financial Analyst® Exam and will be eligible for the CFA charter upon passing additional exams and the completion of the required work experience.
At Heck Capital, Jack’s primary responsibilities include providing detailed reporting, research, due diligence, and in-depth analytics to advisors and consultants who serve high-net-worth individuals, corporations, foundations, endowments, and defined contribution and benefit plans. Throughout high-school and college, Jack has volunteered and participated in food drives including the annual Hartland Food Pantry Drive at the Holiday Train Event, and the Ronald McDonald House Charity Drive through the Finance and Investment Society (FIS) at UW-Madison. He is looking forward to serving his new community of Rhinelander.

My position enables me to continually develop my knowledge and skills as an investment professional. I get to research, analyze, and report on a wide range of investments, strategies, market trends, and more to ensure the best possible recommendations are made to our client’s portfolios.
Carson Tucker
Associate
Carson Tucker is an Investment Analyst Associate based in Heck Capital’s Milwaukee office. Carson works with institutional and corporate clients, conducts research, and assists in the various Heck Capital portfolio management and institutional investment strategies. Carson will serve as a member of Heck Capital’s Investment Committee, and Research team. Carson graduated from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business with a Master in Finance degree with specialization in Asset Management. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in Finance and emphasis on Investments from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Carson passed the Level I Chartered Financial Analyst® Exam, and will be eligible for the CFA charter upon passing additional exams and the completion of the required work experience. Carson has participated in internship programs at Rockefeller Capital Management, Wasatch Global Investors, and ULINE. As a student at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, he founded and led the Specialized Masters Student-Managed Investment Fund. Carson’s interests include Bass Fishing, Mountain Bike Racing, and Philosophy. He is looking forward to volunteering in the Milwaukee community.
